Vandals haven’t wasted any time proving that even the dead aren’t safe from Hollywood’s bottom-feeders.

Just days after country icon Dolly Parton passed away at 80—and before her grave next to husband Carl Dean in Nashville was even cold—some absolute rotter took a key to her Walk of Fame star, thoroughly defacing her name amidst the mountain of fan-left lilies and candles.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce scrambled to cover up the mess and do a rush-job replacement (claiming, rather conveniently, that they were “already planning” to fix a few cracks anyway). A shiny new star is set to be unveiled this Friday.

Meanwhile, back at Dollywood, the cash registers are no doubt primed to keep ringing. The Tennessee theme park has already announced a wave of post-mortem upgrades, including a new “reflection waterfall” by the chapel and a brand-new mascot called the Dream Maker.
