SILENT TREATMENT

You’d think starring in Christopher Nolan’s record-breaking blockbuster The Odyssey would have Hollywood executives practically breaking down your door. But for Elliot Page, the phone has been suspiciously quiet.

Appearing on the On Film… With Kevin McCarthy podcast, Page dropped the surprising revelation that despite playing Trojan horse soldier Sinon in the summer smash, he hasn’t received a single new acting offer since. When the host assumed he must be drowning in script offers, Page bluntly set the record straight: “No, Kevin, I’m not. So if someone wants to call me…”

Page cracked a joke that he gets “pushback for being Canadian,” before acknowledging the elephant in the room and admitting it’s currently “a little tricky” for him to get cast for “pretty obvious reasons”.

He’s not the only Odyssey alum suffering from a post-Nolan drought either. Co-star Samantha Morton recently confessed she hasn’t worked for a full year since wrapping her scenes as Circe, despite her performance generating massive Oscar buzz.

Looks like the studio heads are happy to use indie darlings for prestigious Oscar bait, but aren’t quite so quick to keep the pay cheques rolling in once the press tour wraps.
